Promise Yourself was a poem written in 1912 by American New Thought leader Christian Daa Larson (1874-1954). It's also known as The Optimist Creed after being adopted by Optimist International in 1922; it originally contained a mantra of 13 lines. Larson's books are still being published over 100 years later.
